02.07.2008

GILD Bankers Investment Banking team is joined by Gren Noormets, currently Head of Real Estate Department of Hansabank’s Corporate Banking Division. Starting August 1st, Gren Noormets will manage real estate financing projects in all GILD’s markets, including the Baltic region, Ukraine, Central and Eastern Europe, and the Caucasus. The new professional key player will reinforce GILD’s competence and perspective in the real estate sector.

Lauri Isotamm, GILD Partner and Head of Investment Banking, appreciates highly Gren’s experience and his decision to join GILD saying that “The brightest real estate banker in the Baltics has decided to bring his expertise to GILD, taking here the reins of the real estate sector that still offers good opportunities. At GILD, Gren has the opportunity to deal with many regions, along with raising capital for real estate projects in new high-growth markets of Ukraine, the Caucasus, and Central Asia.

Gren Noormets commented on his joining GILD: “GILD fascinated me with a great team, exciting new opportunities and a wider geographic spectrum. GILD thinks and acts in a wider scope going far beyond the Baltic region.”

He also added that in the real estate, there is always an opportunity to find and develop new projects. “For example, even in today’s Baltic market, it is possible to finance projects. The key is to do this in a well-thought and smart manner, whether by changing financing structures or incorporating more equity investments,” said Noormets.

Noormets has worked in Hansabank Group for 10 years, the last six of which he has developed and directed the real estate financing system and actively participated in the group’s real estate activities in the Baltics and Russia. Noormets received his degree at Estonian Business School.
