In addition to main prize special awards were given in different categories. Fermentas UAB was the top performer in two categories: leadership and responsibility. Winner in the corporate governance category was TEO LT AB. Most attractive employer was Hansabankas AB according to a survey by TNS Gallup, cv.lt and Verslo inios. General public selected TEO LT to be the most respected company while business leaders preferred Omnitel UAB.
“The contest will be held also in 2009 and I believe that Lithuanian companies will be more eager to contribute to professional, ethical, responsible and respected business in Lithuania. Such awards have potential to become a great tradition and a matter of prestige,” said Šarūnas Skyrius, Partner at GILD Bankers in Vilnius. Skyrius added that GILD Bankers was satisfied with the success of GILD TOP 100, a ranking of 100 most valuable companies in Estonia, a concept that can be exported also to other markets. “GILD Bankers appreciates highly that we had an opportunity to contribute with our methodology and experience to the selection of most value-creating, and at the end of the day, most respected company in Lithuania,” so Skyrius.
Companies were evaluated in seven categories. Three of them – respected company, best employer and respected company among business leaders - were evaluated based on surveys by TNS Gallup and Verslo inios. Other four categories – value, leadership, management and responsibility – were appraised by expert teams according to data supplied by the companies.
The work of expert teams was respectively coordinated by Lideika, Petrauskas, Valiūnas ir Partneriai LAWIN, the Vilnius University International School of Management, GILD Bankers and VRP | Hill & Knowlton. The results for the seven categories were summed up to select Lithuania’s 50 most respected companies.
