The leading Baltic investment bank, GILD Bankers opens a door to Nordic countries

Having started in October 2008 with GILD Bankers, Vesa Heikkilä (40) expects to generate new business for GILD in the Nordic countries. “I’m excited to join GILD Bankers. Almost 15 years in the financial sector

Vesa Heikkilä was previously one of the founding partners of Öhman Finland, a subsidiary of Swedish investment bank Öhman where he headed the Equity Capital Markets. Whilst with Öhman, Vesa Heikkilä participated in about fifty equity capital market transactions as a lead manager, co-lead manager, advisor or sales agent e.g. among others, in cooperation with GILD Bankers, Agrowill AB Initial Public Offering on NASDAQ OMX Vilnius Exchange. Before Öhman, Vesa Heikkilä was a member of the management board of FIM Securities (currently Glitnir Bank Finland) starting up FIM’s electronic brokerage services. His former career includes also positions as a partner of private equity broker Privanet, vice president of Helsinki Stock Exchange derivatives market (currently NASDAQ OMX Nordic Exchange) and as a senior advisor to the Finnish Ministry of Finance.

Vesa Heikkilä holds a Master of Laws, LL.M, from the Turku University and CEFA (Certified European Financial Analyst) designation from the Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration in Helsinki. Mr. Heikkilä, a native Finnish, is also fluent in English, Swedish and German.
